Maui Jim Maui Invitational 2020 Surfboard Tour Tips Off

The Indiana Hoosiers were presented with their commemorative surfboard to celebrate their upcoming participation in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational during their game against Purdue. This year’s surfboard was part of the inaugural Tournament surfboard design contest, which featured designs from students at each of the participating schools.

Winning designer Anna McCoy was presented with the board alongside Indiana cheerleaders in front a sold out crowd of 17,222 at Assembly Hall. The presentation took place the same day former head coach Bob Knight returned to Assembly Hall for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Indiana coach Archie Miller will be making his third all-time appearance in the tournament.  His previous appearances occurred while he was an assistant coach at Arizona in 2009, and as head coach of Dayton in 2013. On his radio show, Inside IU Basketball with Archie Miller, he noted that participating in the Tournament will contribute to one of the most challenging and competitive non-conference schedules he has ever faced.
