Randomly selected winner takes home grand prize trip to 2011 EA SPORTS Maui Invitational
MAUI, Hawaii, Nov. 14, 2011 – The ACC Network and the 2011 EA SPORTSTM Maui Invitational® Hosted by Chaminade University today announced the grand prize winner of the ‘ACC Road Trip Pigskin & Paradise Big Ticket Promotion – Win a Trip to Maui,’ which offered fans the chance to win a trip to the 2011 EA SPORTS Maui Invitational. The sweepstakes, which was promoted through the ACC Network, ran from September 21, 2011 through October 31, 2011 allowed fans to enter the contest simply for “liking” the ACC’s Official Facebook page.
Nancy Simpson of Kalama, Washington, has been selected as the grand prize winner. The package for two includes roundtrip air, on island ground transportation, five nights at the Hyatt Maui Resort & Spa, All-Tournament game tickets (including the Duke games), tickets to Sunday night’s An Evening with the Coaches Tip-Off Banquet featuring all teams and coaches, and tickets to the Stadium Club.
“Partnering with a great event like the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational allowed us to offer a once in a lifetime trip for two lucky ACC fans,” said Wyatt Hicks, Vice President of Marketing for the ACC Network. “The quality and variety of ALL the prizes served to drive more fans of the ACC on Facebook, as well as, increase exposure of our ACC Road Trip video features.”

The 28th annual EA SPORTS Maui Invitational will launch the college basketball season with a stellar field. The Championship Round includes Island Teams Duke, Georgetown, Kansas, Memphis,Michigan, Tennessee, UCLAand host Chaminade. Played fewer than 1,000 yards from the Pacific Ocean at Maui’s Lahaina Civic Center Nov. 21-23, four previous Maui champions, Duke (1992, 1997, 2001, 2007), Kansas (1996), Michigan (1985, 1988) and UCLA (2006), will return to the island in search of another Maui title and early-season bragging rights. All eight teams, including Division II Chaminade, participated in the 2011 NCAA® Tournament. The four newly-added Mainland Teams that will participate in the Opening Games and Regional Games, part of the Tournament’s expansion, are Belmont, Middle Tennessee State, Towson and UNCG.
In all, 89 schools representing 21 conferences and 39 states have competed in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, with Maui participants having won an astounding 62 of 73 NCAA championships and 58 of 73 national runner-up spots while comprising 239 of 292 Final Four teams. The ESPN networks will combine once again to offer live television coverage of all 12 Championship Round games. For the third straight year, every game will be produced in high definition on ESPN HD, ESPN2 HD and ESPNU HD, with the ESPN and ESPN2 games also streaming live on ESPN3.com.
