The Girls Day Festival, which has been celebrated from ancient times in honor of daughters, is also called Momo no Sekku (Peach Blossom Festival).  In Japanese culture, the peach blossom represents virtues and characteristics associated with little girls and young women – sweetness, gentleness, beauty, grace, and serenity.  On this festive day, Hinamatsuri ceremonial dolls are arrayed in splendor – a heritage of the household, handed down from generation to generation. Kaanapali Beach Hotel will proudly display the Hinamatsuri collection of Trisha Goya Kapuaala, passed down from Faye Kashiwa Otsuka, who received the collection from Atsuko Kashiwa.
