2017 Ka’anapali Classic – Collegiate Invitational Returns to Ka’anapali Golf Courses November 2-5

Ka’anapali Golf Courses – managed by Billy Casper Golf – will host golfers from 19 universities across America in the 2017 Ka’anapali Classic – Collegiate Invitational, November 2-5 on the Royal Course.

The fourth annual 54-hole, individual and team stroke-play tournament features golfers from Ball State, Boise, Bowling Green, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Gonzaga, Hawaii-Manoa (host), Houston, Indiana, Kansas, Kent State, Louisiana State, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, South Carolina, U.S. Air Force Academy and West Virginia.

“There will be an amazing field of players again this year,” says Sutee Nitakorn, PGA Head Golf Professional at Ka’anapali Golf Courses. “With Georgia returning for revenge on the team trophy after coming in second by one stroke over Clemson last year, and several players gunning for the individual trophy, including Zach Healy after earning it in 2015, the competitive spirit will be in high gear.”

LSU’s Sam Burns, who came from behind to finish second in last year’s event, with an all time record low final round at (-9) will be in the field this year, along with Georgia’s Spencer Ralston who T8 overall as a freshman last year at Ka’anapali and senior Zach Healy, who claimed the 2015 individual title.

Walking spectators are welcome to watch the tournament daily on the Royal Ka’anapali Course. The official practice round on Thursday begins at 12:30pm (shotgun), with the tournament rounds beginning at 8:30am (shotgun start) Friday through Sunday.

Updates and scores will be posted on Ka’anapali’s Facebook page, Instagram @kaanapaligolf and #KaanapaliClassic17
