Honoring Hawai’i’s soldiers who protect our country from overseas, The Westin Maui Resort & Spa will celebrate America’s Independence Day with the Annual July 4th Flowerworks show. General Manager Craig Anderson has arranged for the resort’s five invigorating pool decks – an 87,000 square feet, award-winning aquatic playground – to be showered with 20,000 island orchids from a Blue Hawaiian helicopter flying above at 11:00 a.m. Director of Food & Beverage Nathan Davis will be in the helicopter releasing the flowers to shower the pool decks.
An even more delightful treat awaits five lucky guests. Mingled amidst thousands of orchids are five roses to be redeemed for valuable prizes. To add to the merriment, an array of fun recreational activities will be offered around the pool deck such as lei making, coconut husking and weaving, slide races, pool basketball and volleyball and a dance off competition! Guests may also refresh at the resort’s Hawaiian Summer Days build-your-own Caipirinha Bar at the Lana’i and Kaua’i pool deck, sipping on their personal Caipirinha cocktail creation with their choice of fresh fruit to be muddled with simple syrup and Leblon Cachaca, a specialty rum made only in Brazil. Also sizzling poolside, a live action grill station offering fresh fish tacos will be available along with live entertainment.
