28 Jun Fourth of July Hawaiian Flower Shower
The Westin Maui Resort & Spa is celebrating Fourth of July with an eco-friendly touch! Fifty thousand (50,000) fresh orchids in shades of white and purple will be showered onto resort guests at Noon on July 4, 2015 from a Blue Hawaiian helicopter as it hovers above the resort’s aquatic playground.
An annual tradition observed every Fourth of July for over a decade, the unique Hawaiian Flower Shower creates an unusual buzz of excitement. The environmental–friendly activity promotes a clean and smokeless “flowerworks” alternative to the usual fireworks and emphasizes the importance of environmental sustainability and caring for the planet.
Adding a fun thrill to the event, Westin Maui has five specialty flowers dropped together with thousands of orchids onto guests who eagerly await the event within the resort’s outdoor pools. Guests who find the specialty roses receive prizes ranging from dining and spa certificates to activities such as sunset sail with Gemini Charters and surf lessons at Ka’anapali Surf Club.
In addition to the fragrant flower shower, guests can immerse in the Hawaiian culture by gathering the fresh orchids and learning to make flower leis to present to their loved ones.
Other fun festivities planned in celebration of Independence Day at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa include:
- 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – Gift and Craft Fair at Ocean Lawn
- 10:00 am to 11:00 am – Complimentary Craft Making such as “Stars & Stripes Critter Magnet” at Molokai Pool Deck
- 10:00 am to 1:00 pm – Chair Massage at Ocean Lawn
- 12:30 pm to 1:30pm – Lei Making at Colonnade Cafe
