Tickets on Sale for 24th Hula O Na Keiki

The 24th Hula O Na Keiki, Maui’s only children’s hula competition, is set November 14 – 16, 2014 at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. This weekend competition will commemorate one of Hawaii’s richest traditions, open to hula students from around the world. This year features eight halau from Oahu, Maui, Hawaii Island, California and Nevada.

Children aged five to seventeen compete as soloists and as boy & girl pairs. The competition includes a judge’s interview as well as hula performances in both kahiko (ancient) and auana (modern) dance categories. The students are judged on their proficiency in Hawaiian language, and the appropriateness of their costume.

To complement the keiki hula competition, weekend festivities at the hotel include an arts and crafts fair, cultural workshops and Hawaiian entertainment. The colorful keiki performances and the weekend of festivities at Kaanapali Beach Hotel are a showcase for Hawaiian culture that is not to be missed.

Tickets are now available at Kaanapali Beach Hotel’s Ohana Fun Center, (808) 667-0129. Competition doors openFriday, November 14 at 4 p.m., and Saturday, November 15 at 1 p.m.  The Hawaiian Festival of Arts & Crafts runsFriday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday features an award-winning Sunday Champagne Brunch.



The Big West
Women’s Golf Championship
April 18–21, 2026
For just the fourth time since 1987, The Big West Women’s Golf Championship will be played in Hawai‘i from April 18–21, 2026. Kā‘anapali Golf Courses (Maui) and the University of Hawai‘i will host nine Big West teams for three days of stroke play competition. Attendance will be free for walking spectators.
