New Restaurant in Ka’anapali Celebrates Grand Opening

Chef Paris Nabavi has a serious goal with his new restaurant, Sangrita Grill + Cantina in Kaanapali.  His intention is to serve fine food represented in a fun atmosphere, celebrating the culture and spirit of Mexico and of course, the spirit of all spirits… tequila!

Sangrita Grill + Cantina is an upscale Mexican restaurant and tequila bar in West Maui serving inspired Mexican soul food and the island’s largest selection of artisanal tequila and mezcal.  The menu is passionately prepared with a commitment to the traditional roots of Mexico while incorporating wholesome local ingredients, fresh flavors, and culinary flair.

Chef Nabavi and his staff welcome to community to celebrate the Grand Opening at a special Cinco de Mayo event.  Come enjoy live Flamenco music of Indio and Avi, a special tenderloin fajita plate in addition to the regular menu, and happy hour cantina prices.  The evening is the second annual Cinco de Mayo event to benefit the Lahainaluna High School Agricultural Program.

Located in the Fairway Shops on the Kaanapali shuttle route, Sangrita is the newest restaurant concept from Nabavi, creator and owner of Pizza Paradiso Mediterranean Grill in Honokowai and the award-winning Cilantro Mexican Grill in Lahaina.  Open daily from 11 am – 10 pm, the restaurant welcomes locals and tourists for lunch, dinner, happy hour, and special events.   The Market at Sangrita is the perfect way to grab a quick snack or meal on the run – without the wait!  Throughout the day, Sangrita’s kitchen prepares popular items from the regular menu, plus “market-only” specials, that make it easy to pick up a take-out lunch or bring home dinner for the whole family.

Sangrita never sacrifices quality.  Organic produce is used when possible, with approximately 75% being sourced locally.  Healthy options, including vegan and gluten free dishes, are always on the menu, keeping an eye on food that is clean to the body, and mind.  Sangrita margaritas are made with 2-ounce pours, almost a double!  The fine tequila is then mixed with fresh lime juices and sweetened with organic agave to create irresistible margarita combinations.
