The “masters” arrive at the grills at 5 p.m. nightly to provide complimentary tips, rubs and spices for resort guests until the last guest is happily satisfied. A fragrant herb garden and a barbecue chest with complimentary plates, utensils, napkins, and aluminum foil are made ready.

Dinner revolves around sunset on Maui, so take the cooking outdoors and don’t miss any of the magic show. Flip a burger while flipping out over the ocean blue sky turning brilliant coral shades. Enjoy gentle trade winds and the beachfront local of the barbecue grills, while getting “easy breezy” grilling tips shared by the Grill Masters.

Dinner can be enjoyed at the picnic tables along the private beach lanai or taken back to the condo suite for dinner on the private lanai or a gathering of friends and family.

Grilling out while on vacation gives guests a chance to try many locally-sourced foods affordably, including Maui’s free range beef and Hawaii’s abundance of fish – ahi, mahi mahi, ono and opakapaka – found at markets throughout the island. Create a fresh fish salsa with diced Haden mango, Maui Gold pineapple, sweet Maui onion and cilantro from the nearby farmer’s markets, or grill a side dish with local produce such as breadfruit, sweet potato and squash.

The Grill Masters and a Maui sunset make it easy to volunteer for cooking duty. You might even be inspired to continue the habit at home.
