05 Mar Hawaii Junior Golf Day 2014 – Ka’anapali Resort
Hawaii Junior Golf Day will be held at 12 different golf courses around the state, including Ka’anapali Resort on Saturday, March 22nd. This will be the third year the Aloha Section PGA Foundation and the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association partner up to introduce the game of golf to youngsters in a fun and recreational setting and to help grow the game of golf. Keiki will be lead by PGA Professionals Ed Kageyama, Sutee Nitakorn and David Havenson.
This special introductory golf event is being held at 13 golf courses across the state to introduce the game to Hawaii keiki ages 5-17 who have never played or are beginners to the game of golf. If your child doesn’t have clubs, don’t worry. Age-appropriate equipment will be provided.
The focus of the free clinics is to make golf fun through the use of age appropriate golf equipment and creative props. The clinics also stress proper nutrition and the importance of developing all major motor skills, including running, jumping, throwing and kicking. Each clinic will help teach important techniques of the game while developing life skills of honesty, integrity, good sportsmanship and perseverance.
For parents attending, we will share information on The Roadmap to Junior Golf, which is an online resource with information on all the various junior golf programs in the state that offer opportunities for their child to learn and play the game. The Roadmap to Junior Golf can be found online at the ASPGA, HSJGA and HSGA websites.
To register, simply go to www.HSJGA.org. The first 40 kids to register online for each site receives a FREE tee gift!
