Team USA Features Prominent Maui Alumni

Draymond Green, a member of the 2010 Michigan State team that appeared in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, was officially named to the 2016 U.S. Olympic Men’s Basketball Team on Monday. In addition, Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski and Syracuse head coach Jim Boeheim, who together boast eight Maui titles, will serve on Team USA’s coaching staff in Rio this summer.

Green was a four-year standout for Michigan State and helped the Spartans to a third-place finish in Maui in 2010. A three-time team captain, he was a second-round selection by Golden State in 2012 and has helped the Warriors to consecutive NBA Finals appearances. This will be Green’s first Olympic Games appearance.
