Westin Maui celebrity chef Jenn Evetushick at Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival

Westin Maui celebrity chef Jenn Evetushick shared her cooking tips cooking an Ube tart at the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival this past weekend. The festival is one of California’s most prominent celebrations of Asian traditions and the biggest on the West coast. Starting in 1968, the festival serves to cultivate the continued alliance between Japan and the United States using culture as the bridge.

Each year, over 200,000 people attend this dazzling display showcasing the color and grace of the Japanese culture and the diversity of the Japanese American Community. This year was filled with special events and new attractions.

Reminding us that we are 468 days away from the opening ceremony of the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival in historic Japantown continued through Sunday.

The NBC Bay Area Tokyo 2020 pavilion featured Japanese cultural activities, including Gyotaku fish painting, SF Giants baseball toss, performance from The Relax Band  and Chris Chmura, Consumer Investigator listened to consumer questions from festival attendees.
