Following the penguin feeding, guests are invited to partake in penguin cookie decorating, take pictures with the resort’s penguin mascot, capture a moment at the photo booth, and watch as the seven playful penguins eat, swim and waddle around. Penguin lovers can join the fun by following on social media and sharing their penguin photos at #PenguinInParadise.

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa, a resort located in Ka’anapali Beach in Maui, is the only resort in the Hawaiian Islands with an on-site penguin habitat for seven African-Blacked Footed Penguins. This species of penguin is listed on the IUCN red list of endangered species due to a combination of threats they face in the wild, however they have successfully reproduced and reared six of the seven current penguins right on property at Hyatt Regency Maui.
