The Maui Craft Session 2014 at the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa

The Maui Craft Session 2014 is a celebration of the craft industries of spirits, beer and cigars. This annual event takes place on Sheraton Maui’s Ocean Lawn July 12, 2014 from 6:30 – 9:30pm , with legendary Pu’u Keka’a as the backdrop. The evening highlights industries rooted in small batch production, in which mass-production gives way to hand-crafting and premium quality local ingredients are sourced and utilized whenever possible.

This year’s event focuses on drawing the distinction of Old World compared to New World styles of production.  “The Maui Craft Session 2014 will give aficionados and enthusiasts an opportunity to taste spirit and beer styles that have been created through time honored traditions for ages, and taste them head-to-head with those that are produced with techniques and methods of the present day,” states Brandon Maeda, Director of Food & Beverage at Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa. “The event will allow our guests to re-discover and explore ‘Old World vs. New World’, coupled with the enjoyment of fine cigars and a fantastic spread of appetizers put together by our Culinary team.  This evening is about bringing together our industry’s bests in their respective crafts encompassing ‘crate, cask and barrel’.” Maeda continues.

Maui Brewing Co Black Rock Lager

Southern Wine & Spirits will feature whiskeys from around the world, including Scotland, Ireland, Japan and the United States, and Maui Brewing Co. will offer tastings of craft brews specifically chosen to compliment and contrast the flavor profiles and styles of these spirits.  Ocean Vodka will make its first appearance at the Maui Craft Session as the key ingredient of the evening’s welcome cocktail.

Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa partners with Maui Brewing Company, Southern Wine and Spirits, and General Cigar to create the annual “Maui Craft Session” event.
